PLEASE do not read ahead in the 'London Eye Mystery' novel. Four students took their novel home. Read to the end of chapter 7 ONLY. We want to discuss the mystery as it unfolds. You may finish updating your identification of unfamiliar vocabulary (writing definition and sentence), figurative language, clues, British words, and writing character analyses (character traits with evidence) for chapters 1-7.

Social Studies: Work on your oral presentation. Purpose: share knowledge of your topic and the answers to the 3 questions. Share your knowledge by talking to the class rather than reading from your report. Use cue cards to write key ideas or reminders of what to talk about next. Use an audible, clear voice that projects to everyone in the room. Speak slowly, so students has time to process what you are explaining. Try to look at everyone in the room, as you talk; include everyone. Make your presentation engaging. Provide visuals in the form of a powerpoint, side show or a set of pictures on a word document. Use only visuals with captions or a couple of key ideas. Do not include whole paragraphs in a powerpoint or set of images. Be prepared to answer questions at the end of your presentation. We plan to start presentations on Thursday, February 15th.
